Natura Cosméticos joins GRI's GANTSch program

Mensagem da Global Reporting Initiative sobre a brasileira Natura.

"GRI is happy to announce Natura Cosméticos’ participation in the Global Action Network for Transparency in the Supply Chain (GANTSCh) program. Natura –the first Brazilian company to join the Global Action Network - is one of South America’s leading manufacturers of skin care, solar filters, cosmetics, perfume, and haircare products. For the coming reporting period, Natura will select suppliers to receive certified GRI SME training and follow-up coaching by ABERJE (Brazilian Association of Business Communication).

Natura’s participation follows recent announcements by EDP and PUMA to extend their supplier capacity building initiatives through the GANTSCh program. After a pilot phase with 4 multinationals, EDP and PUMA joined the program in 2009 and built sustainability reporting capacity within suppliers across 6 countries in the 2009-2010 reporting cycle. Their suppliers’ reports are expected to be published by June 2010.

For the forthcoming 2010-2011 reporting cycle, a total of 34 new suppliers in 8 countries have already been selected & confirmed to participate. The GANTSCh program will allow the supplier participants to produce their first GRI Level C report and allow Natura, EDP and Puma to enable transparency in their supply chain through sustainability reporting.
